About the fund
The Community Land Trust Fund is a £2m fund to support fledgling Community Land Trust projects, helping them to make developments become a reality by providing both funding and expert support. Community Land Trusts (CLTs) seek to address this problem by creating affordable housing and community resources through the co-operative ownership of land by the local community.
The aim of the fund is to help remove barriers to the development of community land trust projects, which are seen as:
- difficulty accessing professional and technical skills to prepare development and business plans – which are not always available in the local community; and
- a lack of access to risk capital and bank finance.
The fund is split into four tranches to support Community Land Trusts at each stage of development; from feasibility through to construction. For more information see what funding is available.
